Change the law on zoos in Malta

Animals are sentinent beings who should be treated with more respect & consideration.

Animals deserve to be treated better than this.

Animals are neglected and mistreated in ‘zoos’ in Malta. Their enclosures are tiny and they are not kept in the proper climate.

Because we dont live in the dark ages anymore and animals should be allowed to live a full rich life in an environment that is as similar to their natural habitat as possible.

I'm Maltese English, many times British citizens have said they visited Malta but found animal cruelty very high. Most of them had children & for that reason had visited animal holdings & spoke of shock horror of what they found. They spoke of dying animals just being left & animals in general in very poor condition. They had been very upset & reported the situation but found the employees there didn't want to know & shrugged their shoulders & replied in Maltese. I feel very sad that animal cruelty is always brought up by the English. There has been many incidents of cruelty being mentioned in British magazines for animal lovers.

Please change this situation asap.

We all know Malta relies on tourism & in these pandemic times Malta needs to stand proud!!!

I believe that the age of animals in pens for exhibition is outdated. Thus animals should be provided a place which is closest to their natural habitat even though they may have been bred in captivity.

Because the animal welfare is not being taken seriously and something needs to change.

Every life is important and should be treated with care and respect. This is not happening here, animal rights hardly exist

Animals are not objects to put on a display. I strongly objects against zoos and similar establishments.
Animals are living, feeling beings like us humans and must be treated with respect, love and caring.

Wild animals belong in the wild, not in the puny cages that pass for zoos in Malta!

Animals should not be locked in cages for our amusement!

Animal cruelty has no place in this day and age, neither does the exploitation of wildlife for monetary gain.

I am concerned for the safety of all animals on Malta. I was quite horrified to see how animals were treated on my first holiday to Malta and change needs to happen before I consider returning again.

Animals in Malta need protection

The welfare of these animals is non existent. They are clearly showing signs of extreme stress for so many reasons. This zoo is not about protecting these animals but as a money making process

A change is needed, we all need to work together to help end misery. Animals are not props. There is no excuse for animal cruelty.

Having had my eyes opened to the animal welfare situation in Malta what this group are trying to do is long needed and necessary - time for change to protect innocent lives!
