Der "normale" Verkehrsfluss käme durch den regelmäßigen Bahnverkehr und den damit verbundenen Bahnübergängen erheblich ins stocken. Dieses wiederum hätte einen höheren Schadstoffausstoss und weiterhin eine unangenehme Stadtluft zur Folge. Dieser erhöhte Schadstoffausstoss kann die Verringerung des Schadstoffausstosses durch Bahnfahrer nur bedingt kompensieren.
