Deutsches Kulturgutschutzgesetz wurde angenommen, nun muss nur noch der Bundesrat zustimmen
Liebe Unterstützer der Petition für den Erhalt des privaten Sammelns,
an einem historischen Tag, am 23. Juni, an dem auch die Abstimmung über den Austritt Großbritanniens aus der EU stattfand, hat der deutsche Bundestag mit den Stimmen der Koalition von CDU/CSU und SPD das neue deutsche Kulturgutschutzgesetz angenommen. Der Blick in den Tagungsraum war für jeden deprimierend, der von dem Gesetz betroffen ist. Es waren gerade mal zwei Handvoll Politiker bei der „Diskussion“ des Gesetzes anwesend. Nun muss der Bundesrat noch zustimmen. Sobald er dies getan hat, soll das Gesetz in Kraft treten.
Auch wenn wir mit dem neuen Gesetz nicht zufrieden sind, haben die Politiker doch im Bereich der Münzen und der Fossilien im Vergleich zum ersten Entwurf große Zugeständnisse gemacht. Dies ist Ihnen, den Unterzeichnern der Petition, zu verdanken! Sie haben den Verbänden, die direkt mit den Politikern verhandelt haben, die nötige Rückendeckung und ein besonderes Gewicht gegeben.
Wir haben fast 50.000 Stimmen erreicht, ein Ergebnis mit dem niemand vorher gerechnet hatte! Es fehlen uns nur noch einige wenige daran. Bitte nutzen Sie doch noch einmal Ihren Verteiler, um diejenigen, die bisher nicht unterzeichnet haben, noch zu einer Meinungsäußerung zu veranlassen. Es wäre schön, wenn wir in unserer Pressemeldung auf 50.000 Stimmen verweisen könnten.
Ich möchte jedem einzelnen von Ihnen für Ihren Mut danken, ihre Meinung öffentlich gemacht zu haben.
Und wahrscheinlich werden wir Ihre Stimmen in fünf Jahren wieder brauchen. Einige Politiker haben in der Debatte um das neue Gesetz Verschärfungen gefordert, die anlässlich einer Evaluation in fünf Jahren, beschlossen werden sollen.

German Cultural Property Protection Act adopted, to be finally approved by the Bundesrat
Dear supporters of the Petition for preserving the right to privately collect,
on a historic day, on June 23, on which also the vote on the withdrawal of Britain from the EU took place, the German Bundestag adopted the new German Cultural Property Protection Act with the votes of the coalition of CDU/CSU and SPD. The view into the meeting room was depressing for everybody affected by the law. There were just two handfuls of politicians present for the “discussion” of the law. The Bundesrat has yet to approve.
We are not happy with this new law, nevertheless, compared against the first draft, notable concessions were made particularly in the categories of coins and fossils. This is thanks to you, the signers of the petition! You gave the associations who negotiated with the politicians directly the necessary backing and a particular weight.
We have reached almost 50,000 votes, a result which nobody would have imagined! It is only some few we still lack. Please use your distribution list one more time to motivate those who have not yet signed to express their opinion after all. It would be lovely if we could mention 50,000 votes in the press release.
I want to thank each and everyone of you for having had the courage to make your opinion public.
And we will probably need your vote again five years from now. In the debate, some politicians have called for a tightening of the new law which, in the context of an evaluation five years from now, should be decided.
