Parking at uni is already a problem, let alone closing down the main parking
Lack of parking for students
It is a good option
My car had a hit and run in one of Unis car parks, theres no cameras - I got no help whatsoever
The situation is absolutely undermining students
Car park 6 is one of the decent parking areas, students dont have money to keep fixing repairs done by parking negligence
university students need adequate parking
It is unfair that student already suffer from a parking problem and it is unfair the only solution for us it ti walk a 20 min walk or else park and pay 2euros everyday
Parking in the football field is too far away as I have lectures at Mater Dei.
Already not enough parking..this is making it worse
Because I use this parking on the daily and would probably end up leaving my car 15 min away from university instead (if there even is a place), sure as hell not paying 2 euros every day.
There is too little parking for student already thus taking away this parking area is very unfair
I am a health science student with lectures and placements at Mater Dei.
It is important because as a student finding parking is a daily struggle
Parking is already a hassle at our university, let alone with one big parking being closed
Because i believe that even with the limited parking available it is not fair for students to have to leave home hours before a lecture to find a parking or park further away especially during winter months. We only have university in malta so parking should be given a priority knowing how many students attend the university.
I attend mater dei for my clinical attachments and teachings everyday, hence it is absurd to expect students to pay 2 euro everyday for a month - that is 48euros - or walk 20 minutes to arrive at the hospital drenched in either sweat or rain, and then walk it back after a long tiring day. Given there is an available carpark I think it is only fair that we are allowed to use this for free for this month.
Much more difficulty to find parking due to a significant decrease of parking spaces on campus,
this is important because as a student, I feel that we need to be able to park near campus not in the gym which is very far. Also it is not fair to have to pay for a lecture of 2hours. On the other hand, a student that will be graduating, I would love my parents to see me graduate from atleast near campus.
As it is unjust having to pay for parking due to the closure of Carpark 6 during the month of November.
Med student
No parking space = waste of time
It is not fair for students who are currently studying at UoM, there already is a problem with the parking spaces already! Why are they continue to add to that? There are other alternatives which UoM could do, they simply just don’t care!!
Parking situation forces students to go to uni unnecessarily early and driving when very tired. If they do not do this, they will have to look for parking very far away from their location of studies causing them to miss lectures/tutorials as even the furthest spots are taken up. MDH staff also have to go to the premises very early otherwise they log in late for work.
The same parking spaces are being shared by
-uni students,
-mdh staff,
-mdh patients and relatives,
-people working in the vicinities of factories or MDH, and
-construction vehicles.
New parking on campus asks for 2eu a day when students pay for a ksu parking permit and have only a normal stipend to go on.
New faculties being built have taken up more than half the space previously available in CP6, and new faculties meand more students which means more cars!! The parking available near university sports track is no longer open leaving more space unused.
The public transport system in malta is not reliable nor efficient. Until this is improved, people needing to be in the viscinities of UoM or MDH are having to deal with a lot of unnecessary stress and struggle.
We have a limited space for parking, and it is being taken away without an suitable alternative, increasing further the parking problem.
There always should be a parking for students and teachers
would like to emphasize that this is in no way against the graduations (well done to the graduates 🙂 ) but only to ask for suitable alternatives to address the parking problems which were already drastically bad at university*
The lack of consideration towards university students and especially students who have placements at Mater Dei has reached its peak. It is impossible to close such a vital car park for 5 whole weeks, on top of current existing parking problems. MDH students especially will have to park in the campus hub and pay 2 euro everyday or else in the hospital visitors car park, 3 euro
The ground is too far away and it is just not suitable especially if one has to walk in the rain.
I hope that an free parking alternitive will be offered until CP6 is closed
I have to go to Mater Dei for attachments every day as a medical student. Already limited parking is available..
Parking at University has ALWAYS been a nightmare. One cannot solve a problem by creating yet another one for undergraduates. We expect to be treated in a more respectful manner and to be offered alternatives that are free of charge and close to Mater Dei hospital.

having to pay 2 euro everyday it is too expensive
It is a University I go to, and am aware of the problem of very little parking space, so students having to come multiple hours early or parking very far from the university, sometimes even being 10-20 minutes walk away from the campus, due to there being no closer parking space. The recent sudden closing of one parking area will only make the situation even worse. Students already have to pay to park in a university they attend to, which already offers a terrible service due to the lack of actual parking spaces compared to the amount of students, lecturers and other staff that go to the university daily. Public transport is not really an alternative due to the disastrous state it is in. Therefore this change is going to be absolutely disastrous, and just adds insult to injury to the students who have the option to drive to university, but cannot find a decent parking spot 60% of the time. The suggested idea will help make it better for a while.
