במלחמה הנוכחית נהרגו מעל 40,000 בני אדם בפלסטין ומעל 1,200 בני אדם בישראל. בנוסף, ישנם לפחות 92,000 פצועים, אינספור נעדרים וכן רבים הסובלים מטראומה עמוקה. יש לעצור הסלמה זו של האלימות. בפרט האוכלוסייה האזרחית בעזה סובלת מהמצב הקטסטרופלי שנגרם עקב עקירה חוזרת ונשנית של כמעט שני מיליון בני אדם בארצם, חסימת הסיוע ההומניטרי, ניתוק אספקת החשמל והמים ורמות הרס מסיביות. האו"ם מדבר על רעב המוני ועל מצב חירום רפואי. המצב בעזה אינו תוצאה של אסון טבע, אלא של אלימות חסרת הבחנה ומצור מכוון. התגובה הפוליטית של מהממשלה הגרמנית למצב זה חייבת להשתנות מהותית.

We want to make you aware of a rally on Friday, 18 October 2024. Under the heading "For a just peace in Palestine and Israel – Protect civilians, stop arms exports!", a broad alliance of more than 30 organizations is calling for a protest at the Federal Chancellery; the content and demands are very similar to those of the petition.
The rally calls on the German government to use all available means for securing an immediate and comprehensive ceasefire between the parties to the conflict. It also demands not to supply any arms to Israel if there is a risk that they will be used in violation of international law.
