Open call for new global security architecture and immediate cessation of hostilities in Ukraine!
On March 4th, 2022, the largest nuclear power plant in Europe was affected by hostilities. The question of damage is initially of secondary importance - the mere fact of fighting around nuclear power plants should not exist, since the danger of nuclear contamination and thus contamination of an uncontrollable extent could then escalate into a third world war. Here not only the border of the Ukraine was violated - and thus the integrity of a state - but the general limit to a possible intracontinental contamination of Europe was exceeded.
New Urgency Special Summit Needed - Immediately Peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia are therefore no longer sufficient; The European Union, the United States of America, the Russian Federation and the People's Republic of China now have the obligation to discuss a new security architecture at a special summit and until then to cease hostilities in Ukraine with immediate effect. The conflict must be resolved immediately, and this can only be done with Russia and not without it - that must become clearer.
The EU needs to rethink and lead
Above all, the European Union should change course from the biopolar strategy to a multilateral-integrated strategy in a global context. Basically, that means going the unconventional route; to propose an emergency summit, which on the one hand means an immediate moratorium on combat operations in Ukraine and on the other hand the integrity of states and the consideration of threats to states - also for the Russian Federation in their subjective impression - lead to a new global security architecture will. NATO alone on the one hand and the Russian Federation on the other - whether with China's "shadow" or not - can no longer lead to a solution to the conflicts.
So it is time to focus on solving the conflict and not clinging to the biopolar thought patterns of the past. The goal of the integrity of people and borders can only be successfully achieved with the Russian Federation and not against it. Of course, this also includes accepting responsibility on the part of NATO and the Russian Federation for the damage that has occurred in Ukraine so far; because the escalation of this conflict is based on mutual distrust and a blatant misjudgment on both sides.
Russia is the aggressor
And just to anticipate the impression of taking sides with the aggressor: Yes, the regime of the Russian Federation started this war. Yes, Ukraine fell victim to an attack not seen in Europe since 1941. But no: We don't want any further escalation of the conflict in Europe and we should find new ways to keep the peace and counteract conflicts. This absolutely includes the resumption of diplomacy: albeit on a higher and absolutely serious level to resolve the conflict.
For Ukraine, it would mean rebuilding the country and every stone within the framework of a reconstruction program comparable to the Marshall Plan and starting a peaceful future as a state within the European Union.
For our global world order, it would mean setting up a G4 format that only affects the global security architecture and can lead to escalations through moratoriums and agreement on solutions towards a global peace order.
The following points are necessary for this:
1. Today, on March 4th, 2022, the European Union should propose an emergency special summit in which the United States of America, China and the Russian Federation will then also take part.
2. An immediate moratorium on the war in Ukraine is the only condition for the summit
3. Admission of Ukraine to the European Union with security guarantees for border states through a peace agreement between the states concerned
4. A final agreement of the special summit towards a new global security architecture and a reconstruction plan for Ukraine as a common first goal signed
