YouTube wurde bereits vor Jahren von Google gekauft, die Datensammlung war vermutlich eines der ersten Dinge, die das Unternehmen in die Plattform eingebaut hat. Nur dadurch, dass Google+ in YouTube integriert wird, wird die Privatsphäre nicht mehr eingeschränkt, als sie es sowieso schon ist. Da Google bereits alle Daten besitzt, die die Nutzer auf YouTube eingegeben haben, ist das im Endeffekt nur eine Veränderung der graphischen Gestaltung ihrer Webseite.
