Coach Yi Ki-hoon says 'we'll keep the winning streak going'
Պատճառ
"We will prepare better to continue our winning streak."
Says Suwon Samsung head coach Yi Ki-hoon.
Suwon Samsung won their Hana Bank K League 2 2024 home match against Jeonnam Dragons 5-1 on Tuesday at Suwon World Cup Stadium. Suwon (4W2L) jumped to second place with its second straight win.
After the game, coach Yeom said, "It was a very difficult game against Jeonnam. Jeonnam was also very determined not to lose. But I think our players are getting used to the one-on-one, strength battle as the rounds go on. Jeonnam was in a good mood, but they didn't want to lose. They put a lot of pressure on our strikers, but we did well in that regard. It was a great win in front of our home fans and I'm really happy for them."
The second half was a 180-degree turnaround. Suwon conceded two goals in the first half alone, with the only consolation being that one was overturned by video assistant referee (VAR). Suwon showed their focus in the second half, scoring four goals.
"I told Cho Yoon-sung that he can go through the side instead of just looking at the center," said Yeom. It gave him one more option. We've practiced it in training, but there are some situations you don't see in a game. (Substitute) Kim Hyun's strengths are playing screens and giving kips. I'm sure Mulicicic will be upset that he's not in the game, but I think it's the 먹튀검증 right thing for the team to get him in early. I think the coaching staff's decision made it a little bit easier for us to get through the game."
"I think it was stressful for the forwards. We had a lot of shooting programs for the forwards. I told them they had to score goals. I even took them to practice shooting. It must have been stressful for them, but I want to thank them for overcoming the pressure and scoring goals. Son Seok-yong is a daredevil on both the left and right side. He is the type of player we need in our team. He works hard in training. In practice, to be honest, he was shooting with his left foot and then with his right foot, which wasn't good yesterday. Luckily, he found the right time. It's the first goal. I want to say congratulations to him, I think it will give him more confidence in his shooting."
Despite the overall improvement, the performance of foreign players is a concern. "I keep training with Mulicic and Tungara because I think we can only get promoted if they play well. I'm preparing them to be as fit as possible so they can score goals. It might be a bit difficult for them right now, but I think it will help us when we need it. Both Kim and Mulicic said they could start or come on later. Kim felt that the latter would be better than starting today, so I conveyed my thoughts in the meeting. Luckily, he didn't take offense, but he understood. He said, "It's not that I'm starting just because I scored a goal, but I'm thinking of making a choice that better suits our strategy against the opponent and our direction.
Suwon, meanwhile, will face Gimpo FC at home on the 14th. "I don't like the buildup situation. I think we need to do more build-up training to continue in the direction we want to go. After the game against Chungbuk Cheongju, I told the players that we had a good start to April, so let's try to win back-to-back games. We didn't score a lot of goals, and that set the tone for everything. The next game will be difficult, but we will prepare better so that we can continue our winning streak."
