Het verzoekschrift is gericht aan: Verwaltung Uni Marburg

We demand the withdrawal of the new logo of Philipps-University Marburg and a transparent, participatory redesign involving students, staff, and alumni. The logo recently introduced does not meet the expectations of a university rich in tradition, nor has it been sufficiently communicated or legitimised.

Reden

Since its introduction, the new logo of Philipps-University Marburg has caused massive criticism and incomprehension within the student body and far beyond. It has been ridiculed across Europe on social media, which has done lasting damage to the reputation of our university.
Numerous members of the university feel ignored by the decision as there was no communication nor opportunities to provide our opinion on the matter.
As an educational institution rich in tradition and with an international reputation, the University of Marburg deserves an image that reflects both historical identity and academic integrity.
We therefore demand: an open design process with democratic participation and a new, dignified design that represents the University of Marburg as it is: strong in research, historically aware and future-oriented.

Bedankt voor jullie steun, Madalyn Meece, Marburg
