Freilaufende Hauskatzen verletzen und töten Wildtiere (z.B. Vögel, Nagetiere, Amphibien, Reptilien), darunter auch gesetzlich geschützte oder vom Aussterben bedrohte Arten! Außerdem sind sie unnatürliche Konkurrenten für heimische Raubsäuger. Durch Katzenkastration kann also die Zahl der ´Katzenopfer´ nachhaltig verringert werden.
