Changes to the petition
vor 1 Tag
Petition richtet sich an: Rat der Stadt Köln, Oberbürgermeister Torsten Burmester, Ausschuss für Anregungen und Beschwerden
Business Fund & Rent Assistance: I would like to see a municipal funding program and city-run concept-based tenders so that small craft businesses, cultural venues, and neighborhood shops can find affordable premises.
Clean Neighborhoods, Recycling & Waste Fairness: A phased-in requirement to switch to reusable and deposit systems. Those who generate to-go waste (kiosks, fast-food outlets, supermarkets) should be responsible for keeping their immediate surroundings (10-15 meters) clean or contribute to city cleaning costs.
Award for Genuine Sustainability: A city seal for businesses that prioritize regional products, animal welfare, honest craftsmanship, and the promotion of local apprenticeships – rewarded with discounts on city fees.
Sanitation Fee to Combat Public Urination: Businesses with high late-night and alcohol sales contribute to a sanitation fee to fund clean neighborhood restrooms and the expansion of the "Nice Toilet" initiative.
Minimum Distances Against Monocultures: Targeted urban density restrictions should be used to prevent a one-sided mix of businesses on shopping streets and create space for diversity.
Fair Work & Inspections: Strengthening honest businesses with regular apprenticeships and jobs through joint inspections by the public order office and customs (under the Act to Combat Undeclared Work) regarding minimum wage and occupational safety.
Initiative for Commercial Tenancy Protection: A Cologne initiative in the state parliament for fairer commercial tenancy law with protection against eviction and skyrocketing rents.
Important for everyone: You don’t need to be from Cologne to sign! Every vote counts. If we achieve change here, we set an example for all our cities. Join in!
As a Cologne resident, I've witnessed for years how high rents and monocultures are changing our neighborhoods: traditional shops are disappearing, and litter and public urination are on the rise.
My goal isn't bans, but rather a harmonious community: clean streets, affordable spaces for local businesses, and preserving our neighborhood identity.
To ensure this isn't just wishful thinking, I've already submitted an official citizen's petition (§ 24 GO NRW) to the City of Cologne – including concrete solutions and the relevant legal framework (from the Building Code and the Packaging Act to city bylaws).
I sincerely ask for your signature:
Let's show together how much we care about the future of our neighborhoods.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart for your time, your vote, and your commitment to our Cologne!
