We would like to see a successful nomination for the late Paul Sykes to be designated a pavement star in his hometown of Wakefield.

Paul Sykes put the City of Wakefield on the map.
As a former contender for the British and Commonwealth Heavyweight boxing titles Paul Sykes stands as an inspiration to working class kids today who are looking for a way out of a life of reduced opportunities.
In Paul's own words: "Boxing has been my salvation. It's the only sport which could have rescued me from my background."
