Petition richtet sich an: Parliament
Sociology and History departments, among others, have professionals who can do local or regional studies, correlate data from official statistics, and compare the rise and containment of the present pandemia in Germany.
Parliament should set aside funds to sponsor such studies submitted to a certain deadline.
Begründung
Governors, the national government and their institutions lack solid data bases to make such decisions as regional containment, saving retirement homes, border control, step-by-step plans, matching incidence numbers (within 7 days) etc.
Experienced researchers could probably develop relevant research proposals within a short time. Universities and research institutions could research the region they located in.
This is not the last pandemia. We should learn more about this one to face the next one.
The "Spanish flu" had three waves. People relaxed before the second one in late 1918. The second one was far deadlier than the first. Can we learn from the past?
