Robinson Morales (Spain/Colombia) returns to the PBA as the No. 1 overall pick in the PBA TeamLeague Draft and will wear the uniform of the Hawks.
Odůvodnění
The PBA held the PBA Team League Draft for the 2024-25 season on Thursday afternoon at the Korea Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul. After an hour-long draft event, each team finalized their roster for the upcoming year.
For this year's draft, teams with fewer players on their roster were given the right to draft in the reverse order of their final postseason standings from the previous season (teams that did not make the postseason were given the right to draft in the reverse order of their regular season standings).
After finishing last last season with the least protected players (three - Javier Palazon, Choi Sung-won, Kim Se-yeon), the Hawks had the No. 1 overall pick and selected Morales.
After being selected by the Hawks with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft, Robinson Morales played in the PBA Tour in the 2019-20 season, finishing the season ranked No. 18. The following year, he joined TS-JDX, where he led the team to the inaugural Team League championship that season alongside Byung-ho Kim (Hanacard), Kyung-seop Jung (Jung Kyung-seop), and Im Rae (Hiwon).
After leaving the PBA after the opening game of the 2021-22 season, Morales returned to the professional scene after four seasons with priority registration.
With the second overall pick in the draft, Wellcome Savings Bank, which also had three players (Seo Hyun-min, Kim Ye-eun, and Choi Hye-mi) on reserve, selected the returning “left-handed prodigy” Filippos Katsidokostas (Greece).
Filippos is the 'inaugural champion' of the PBA, a professional billiards league that launched in 2019. He won the three-cushion “first-ever 100 million won” prize after a close battle with Kang Min-gu (Woori Financial Capital) in the final. With his delicate shots and precise strokes, he reached the finals three times in the professional stage, winning twice and finishing runner-up once.
After taking a break from the professional stage last season due to personal reasons, Filipos returned to the PBA through priority registration. He will be wearing the new jersey of Welcome Savings Bank in the team league.
Huons and Welcome Savings Bank followed up their first-round picks with the first and second picks in the second round, selecting Cha Yuram and 토토사이트 Semi Signer (Turkiye), respectively. Coincidentally, the two players selected by their respective organizations in the second round have switched teams this season. Eswai, who had the third pick in the second round, selected Japanese youngster Yusuke Mori.
In the third round, Huons picked Lee Sang-dae, No. 2 Hi-one picked Burak Hashash, who has been playing professionally since this season, No. 3 Welcome Savings Bank picked Kim Lim-kwon, No. 4 Eswai picked Jang Ga-yeon, and No. 5 Crown Hae-tae picked Hwang Hyung-beom from the domestic scene.
In the fourth round, Huons selected World Women's 3 Cushion Champion Lee Shin-young, Hi One selected Jeon Ji-woo, Welcome Savings Bank selected Kim Do-kyung, and Eswai selected Kwon Bal-hae. Crown Haetae picked Nguyen Duc Ain Chien, while NH Card and SK Rent-a-Car picked Soo Bin Jung and Ye Eun Cho.
Jeon Jeon-woo (20), Kim Do-kyung (23), Kwon Bal-hae (19), and Jeong Soo-bin (24) were among the LPBA's young up-and-comers who entered the team league in the fourth round.
Now that the teams have finalized their rosters, they will begin preparations for the Team League, which will begin in July. The PBA-LPBA Tour Media Day will be held on June 10 at the Press Center ahead of the start of the 2024-25 season (mid-June).
