“Good luck in the future”→'World-class CB' leaves Man United as a free agent after three seasons with the club
Begründung
Manchester United's “world-class” center back Rafael Varane will leave the club at the end of the season.
“After three seasons at Old Trafford, Baran will leave the club in the summer when his contract expires. Baran has made 93 appearances for the club so far, bringing a lot of quality and experience to the team. Last year, he lifted the Carabao Cup, helping the club win its first major trophy in six years.”
Baran played for Real Madrid for 10 seasons, starting in 2011-12. During his time at Real, Baran was described as a “world-class” center back. With Real, he won numerous trophies, including three La Liga titles and four UEFA Champions League titles. At the 2018 World Cup in Russia, he won the title with the French national team.
Having won it all at Real, Varane decided he needed new motivation and wanted a challenge. He left the club ahead of the 2021-22 season and joined United. The Red Devils, in need of defensive reinforcements, approached Baran and paid €50 million for the center back.
Baran has been a key part of United's defense since his first season. He used his speed to cover the space behind the United back line and was a solid defender every time he appeared. After the arrival of Eric ten Haag last season, Varane remained in the starting lineup. He partnered with Lisandro Martinez and played a total of 34 games. United won the Carabao Cup for the first time in six years thanks to Baran's performance.
Despite his stellar performances last season, Baran fell out of favor with Van Gaal at the start of this season and fell out with the Dutchman. In the 10th round of the English Premier League (EPL) against Manchester City, Van Gaal started Jonny Evans 토토사이트 instead of Baran. After the game, Van Gaal said it was a tactical decision, but Varane said he didn't understand it.
It's even sparked transfer speculation. Bayern Munich were in the market for Baran as a backup to Kim Min-Jae's Asian Cup call-up. Luckily, Varane has reclaimed his place as United's first-choice center back. He has been in the starting lineup since the 17th round match against Liverpool and has made 21 appearances in the Premier League this season. Unfortunately, he recently picked up an injury against Chelsea that has kept him out of action.
Baran has been focusing on rehabilitation to recover from his latest injury. Initially, it looked like he was going to be ruled out for the season, but luckily, he was extended as United defeated Coventry City to reach the FA Cup final. United will play Manchester City in the final on May 25 at Wembley Stadium. It's possible that Baran could return before the end of the season.
However, Baran will leave United after the end of the season. His departure will be as a free agent (FA). When he joined United in the summer of 2021, he signed a four-year contract, but it was a 3+1 year deal. United didn't exercise the option to extend it, so Baran will leave as a free agent.
It's the nagging injury that's holding him back. Baran was a player who played well in important games for United, but he had too many injuries and needed to be managed. In the end, United chose to part ways with Baran to bring in a younger, healthier center back.
“Baran is currently working hard to recover from his injury and we are hopeful that he will be back in action before the end of the season. Everyone at the club would like to thank Baran for his commitment and wish him the best of luck for the future.”
