After more than 70 years the lease for the traditional site has been terminated effective August 31, 2025, which could spell the end of the western town's

Why is Old Texas Town so important?
The impending closure of Old Texas Town is particularly regrettable, as the complex is not only a popular destination for families and history buffs, but also an important cultural institution. With the church, sheriff's office, museums, saloon and it's own Alamo rebuilding it is not only a sight to look at but it is an authentic place where history is still alive.
The western town has been home to the Cowboy Club Old Texas Berlin 1950 e. V. since 1950 and is an important part of Spandau's cultural heritage.
We demand:
- Maintaining The Integrity of Old Texas Town
- A Fair Solution with the Landlord and the City of Berlin to enable the continuance of the Western Town
- Acknowledgement of Old Texas Town as a historical and traditional sight
Don't allow our town become a ghost town!!

Saving Old Texas Town is therefore not only a concern for those committed to preserving this special institution, but also an important step toward preserving the cultural heritage and history of Berlin-Spandau. As a Texan, I appreciate the German heritage and communities across our state. Many of these communities honor their traditions through festivals and gatherings which are hallmarks of cultural significance. The Old Texas Town has a tradition of honoring the Texas Culture with authentic experiences and this is also a hallmark of culture significance. There are 2.6 to 3 million Texans with German ancestry such that much of what Old Texas Town recreates was an actual lived experience by Germans just in another time and place. To forget and to no longer celebrate those experiences is a loss for all.
