We, the undersigned, urge the German government to immediately stop the deportation of Ethiopian citizens and review their asylum cases with consideration of the ongoing humanitarian and political crisis in Ethiopia.
Why This Matters
- Human Rights Violations in Ethiopia: Ethiopia faces severe internal conflicts, ethnic violence, and political repression. Deporting individuals back to such conditions puts their lives at risk.
- Violation of International Refugee Rights: Germany has a moral and legal responsibility under the 1951 Refugee Convention and the European Convention on Human Rights to protect asylum seekers from deportation to unsafe conditions.
