Petition richtet sich an: Ministry of Justice
Not all cases of domestic violence are easily solved by sending mother and kids to a "Frauenhaus". Not always issuing a restriction order is enough for women who have traditionally made less money than their husbands, because they had been combining their career with the raising of kids.
According to politicians, Germany needs immigrants. How can Germany be attractive to well-educated women if laws do not protect us when we most need it? What kind of a message is this society sending to girls?! Are we women second class citizens? Why are we still seen as an appendix of our husbands in this XXI century?
In cases of domestic violence, whatever its kind , there has to be the possibility to get the divorce as soon as possible. However, in cases of financial violence every day counts! Every single day we are still attached to our husbands is a day they generate us more debt and conflicts with administrations, so appart from the psychologycal damage we have to deal with all sorts of bureaucratical procedures, plus the difficulties of the language. And Germany needs us immigrants, remember? Well, the right of ALL women -whatever their origin- matters, and the "separation year" in cases of domestic violence plays AGAINST the right of women.
