Tadej Pogačar Reclaims the Tour De France Crown

Revenge against 'rival' Bingegård after 3 years… 3rd win overall.

Tadej Pogačar (Slovenia) has reclaimed the title of the world's top road cycling race, the Tour de France 2024, by beating his 'rival' Jonas Vingegaard (Denmark).

Pogačar won the individual overall title in the race that ended in Nice, France on the 21st (local time), becoming the final owner of the 'yellow jersey', the symbol of the winner. 파워볼실시간

Pogačar started from Florence, Italy on the 29th of last month and ran a total of 3,498 km over 21 stages to Nice, southern France, in 83 hours, 38 minutes, and 56 seconds.

The time difference with Bingegor, who came in second, was 6 minutes and 17 seconds.

Among Pogačar and Bingegor, who have been competing for the title for several years, Bingegor was the winner of the last two competitions.

Pogačar, winner of the 2020 and 2021 editions, was runner-up to Vingegor in both 2022 and 2023, but was delighted to reclaim his crown after three years at this tournament.

"Everything went perfectly this year at the tournament.

I'm really happy, Tadej Pogachar told the organizers."

It's unbelievable, he said.

"For years we've been told that we are the best generation in cycling history.

To compete with guys like Remko Evenepol, Vingegor, Prismo Roglic is incredible."

Pogačar has now won both the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France this year, becoming the first rider since Marco Pantani in 1998 to do so in the same year, 26 years after winning both races.

Italy's Giro d'Italia, Spain's Vuelta a España, and France's Tour de France are considered the world's three major road cycling races.

The Tour de France traditionally decides the winner in 20 stages, and then holds a celebratory race in the final 21st stage leading to the Champs-Élysées in Paris, France.

This year, due to the Paris Olympics opening on the 26th, the 21st stage was designed as a course leading from Monaco to Nice instead of the Paris city roads.
