The European juggernaut is back. G2 dominates in both ban picks and play against TES in a complete victory.

G2 defeated TES 3-0 in the second round of the loser's bracket stage of the 2024 Mid-Season Invitational (MSI) on Thursday afternoon at the Financial City Performing Arts Center in Chengdu, China. With the win, G2 will face the winner of T1-Team Liquid for a spot in the Loser's Bracket Finals.

G2's momentum was clear from the start of Game 1. Scoring first in a two-on-two bot line engagement, G2 set the stage for the snowball as they aggressively pressured Tristana on Rasmus “Caps” Wünter. In the ninth minute, G2 started to build up more gains and get into the flow while Rasmus Wünter's Tristana was walking a tightrope with very little health.

TES struggled to find their footing against the Calista-Leona offense. A well-timed iburn from Martin “Yaik” Sundelin also played a crucial role in G2's consolidation. G2, who had easily opened up a 10,000+ gold gap in 25-minutes and ravaged the enemy lane, destroyed Nexus with four kills in the 28-minute replay.

After an unconventional first game European with Avon, G2 switched up their game plan in game two with Cogmo in the ranged dealer position and 바카라 Rexai to power the upper lane. G2's blueprint began to materialize with the accident-free growth of Cogmo and active objective hunting.

G2's chances of victory were very much in their favor as Stephen 'Hans Sama' Reeve's Kogmo swept through the later stages of the fight. After picking up the Baron Nasher buff at 21-minutes and picking up the pace, G2 reached 'match point' by taking down Nexus in 24-minutes, faster than in Game 1.

Pushed to the brink by a series of strategic hits from G2, TES looked to turn the tables by taking the opponent's pick in Game 3. G2 managed to hold on as TES continued their strong early game pressure. G2 began to close the gap, with Martin Sundelin's iburns giving the team a steady stream of survivability.

After pushing back their enemies, G2 began to solidify their position by hunting down Baron Nasher at 26-minutes. Heading to the bot line at 28-minutes, G2 easily sliced through the enemy's defensive forces, destroying the third-set nexus and securing a spot in the Loser's Bracket Round 3.
