Barrierefreiheit

Der Bodenbelag auf dem Friedrichsplatz ist teils für Rollstühle und auch Kinderwagen sehr schwer befahrbar. Die weißen Granitplatten auf dem Marktplatz dagegen sind ideal geeignet, auch einen barrierefreien Christkindlesmarkt anzubieten!

Mehr Grün in der Stadt

Es gab Menschen, die wollten Bäume auf dem Marktplatz, obwohl das aufgrund der Haltestelle und geplanter Veranstaltungen nicht umsetzbar ist. Der Friedrichsplatz dagegen hat Platz für Bäume, viel Grün und soll wieder renaturiert werden - das ist aber bei weiterer Nutzung für den Christkindlesmarkt nicht möglich.

Zentrale Lage

Die zentrale Lage ist ideal für eine große Veranstaltung, die unterirdische Straßenbahnhaltestelle ist auch barrierefrei schnell und einfach erreichbar, die Eiszeit am Karlsruher Schloss ist deutlich näher und kann evtl. sogar noch durch eine Verbindung über Karl-Friedrich-Straße und Platz der Grundrechte direkt an den Markt angebunden werden.

MARKT

Der MARKTplatz ist genau für solche Veranstaltungen aus- und angelegt, viel Platz, stabile Steinplatten, Infrastruktur (Wasser, Strom etc.) - der Friedrichsplatz dagegen soll wieder eine grüne Oase mit Bäumen und Pflanzen werden, um in den heißen Sommern Schatten zu spenden. Die Pflanzen würden durch den Christkindlesmarkt aber enormen Schaden nehmen.

Die wichtige Ost-West Radverbindung wird nicht wieder wochenlang gesperrt sein.

Aufgrund §§ 1, 3 Abs. 4 der Gebührensatzung der Stadt Karlsruhe werden die Standgebühren auf dem Marktplatz etwas teurer als auf dem Friedrichsplatz.
