Genpool erhalten versus Widvögel schützen

Der Schutz erhaltenswerter Rassegeflügel zur Verhinderung des Aussterbens von wichtigen Rassen mit der Erhaltung des Genpools ist wesentlich wichtiger, als nur die Gefahr der Ansteckung von Wildgeflügel zu vermeiden. Die Keulung von in Massentierhaltungen gehaltenen Nutzgeflügeln bei Infektionen mit Vogelseuchen oder potentiellen Infektionsgefahren ist verterinärmedizinisch sinnvoll. Eine Masseninpfung dieser Grossbestände scheint weder machbar noch finanzierbar.
