Für unsichere, junge oder ältere Hunde kann ein klar abgegrenzter Bereich hilfreich sein, weil Begegnungen kontrollierbarer sind. Das wird auch in Petitionsargumenten für eingezäunte Freilaufflächen genannt.

Es kann Lärm geben, vor allem wenn die Fläche nah an Häusern liegt oder stark genutzt wird. Das ist oft der häufigste lokale Streitpunkt.

Wenn die Fläche schlecht gewählt ist, entstehen Konflikte mit Wildtieren, Landwirtschaft oder Spaziergängern. Freilauf sollte nicht einfach auf jeder Grünfläche erlaubt sein.

Es braucht Regeln, Pflege und oft auch Kosten für Zaun, Abfallbehälter, Unterhalt und Kontrolle. Ohne diese Dinge kippt die Akzeptanz schnell

Manche Halter verhalten sich nicht rücksichtsvoll, etwa wenn Hundebegegnungen eskalieren oder Hinterlassenschaften nicht entfernt werden. Dann leidet das ganze Projekt.
