Denkmalschutz, Kulturerbe, Historisches Gebäude

Das Ballhaus Pankow ist ein wertvolles Denkmal deutscher Architekturgeschichte, das beide Weltkriege überstanden hat. Es gehört zur Identität des Bezirks Pankow und ist ein Symbol unserer Kultur. Die einseitige Einstellung der Versorgung durch die GESOBAU ignoriert bestehende Vereinbarungen und gefährdet das Gebäude unnötig. Ein Verfall wäre ein unwiederbringlicher Verlust für Berlin und setzt ein gefährliches Signal für den Denkmalschutz.

Man könnte argumentieren, dass die Versorgung des Ballhauses zu teuer oder zu aufwendig ist. Doch das Denkmal wurde jahrzehntelang versorgt, und es existiert eine Nachbarschaftsvereinbarung, die praktikabel ist. Denkmalschutz bedeutet Verantwortung, und ein Verfall aus Kostengründen ist weder gerechtfertigt noch akzeptabel. Ein öffentliches Unternehmen wie die GESOBAU hat eine Pflicht gegenüber unserer Kultur und Geschichte.
