- Adjustments to new findings from a personal conversation with a manager or representative of the operator on Friday, October 10, 2025: From the operator's point of view, the business is or should be only a “betting shop” with a separate restaurant/pub planned for the rear of the same retail space. However, from the perspective of the initiator and co-initiators, this planned “overall picture” once again gives the impression of a “betting office.”
- Linguistic adjustments: The initiator was asked on several occasions - including and in particular by supporters - to formulate the text without using any particular linguistic stylistic elements of sarcasm and/or exaggeration. Taking this into account, the term “gambling den” was deleted and the paragraph “With almost complete certainty...” was adjusted to make the expression of personal opinion clearer.

E-1-62-000-70 “Olympic Park Ensemble” in the Munich list of monuments of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation) – specifically intoin the building at Helene-Mayer-Ring 14, 80809 Munich.ThisMunich – will almostbecome certainlyhome to a betting office or betting shop.
In the opinion and personal conviction of the initiator and other co-initiators, this is highly likely to have negative and far-reaching effects – including geographical ones – on this special historic, listed and family-friendly residential area.area (awarded in the City of Munich's “Child and Family-Friendly Residential Complex 2006” competition; Source: EIG Olympiadorf e.V. - eig-olympiadorf.de/leben-im-olympiadorf/#kinderfreundliches-dorf).
We, as neighbors and residents, therefore demand:
- The revocation of the operating license granted for the betting office currently under construction and,
- in future, greater and better consideration of the special character of this family-friendly (think in particular of the complete absence of
cars!)cars!), pure andalmost completely heritage-protectedheritage-listed (and possibly on its way to becoming a World Heritage Site!) residentialareaarea, with kindergartens, daycare centers, schools, children's and youth (sports) clubs, and church children's and youth groups located in the immediate vicinity of the planned location of the betting shop/betting office (as the crow flies: max. 150 meters–- Nadischule, Nadistr. 3;min.minimum:550 meters – directly opposite: Catholic and Protestant churchcenter!).center, Helene-Mayer-Ring 23 – source of measurements: Google Maps)!

As a direct resident (and co-owner!) of the building in questionquestion, andhaving a resident who grewgrown up and came of agelived in the Olympic Village over severalfor decades, I - Patrick Bäumel - am utterlyparticularly dismayed that such a tenant or businessprovider has been approved in a family-friendlyfamily-friendly, clean residential area that is almost entirely listed as a historic sitemonument (and may even be on its way to becoming a World Heritage Site!). A residential area with kindergartens, daycare centers, schools, children's and youth (sports) clubs, and church children's and youth groups located in the immediate vicinity.
