To Ubisoft,
We, the undersigned fans of the Prince of Persia franchise, respectfully ask Ubisoft to reaffirm its commitment to releasing Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake and to provide the community with a clear development update and roadmap.
For more than twenty years, Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time has remained one of gaming's most beloved action-adventure titles. Its innovative parkour, time-manipulation mechanics, environmental storytelling, and unforgettable atmosphere inspired an entire generation of games. Many players still regard it as one of the most influential titles ever created.
The remake's announcement generated enormous excitement among longtime fans and introduced a new audience to the series. However, years of delays, development changes, and limited communication have left the community uncertain about the project's future.
We understand that creating a high-quality remake takes time and resources. We would rather wait for a great game than receive an unfinished one. Nevertheless, fans who have supported this franchise for decades deserve transparency and reassurance that this landmark title will not be forgotten.
By signing this petition, we ask Ubisoft to:
- Publicly reaffirm that Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake remains a priority project.
- Provide regular development updates to the community.
- Share a realistic timeline for future announcements and release expectations.

Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time is more than just another video game. Released in 2003, it helped define the modern action-adventure genre through its innovative parkour movement, environmental puzzles, cinematic storytelling, and the iconic ability to manipulate time. Many mechanics that later became standard in major franchises can trace their roots back to Prince of Persia's influence.
When Ubisoft announced a remake in 2020, fans around the world were excited to revisit one of gaming's most beloved classics. However, the project suffered years of delays, changes in development studios, and repeated setbacks. Ubisoft later restarted development under Ubisoft Montreal and publicly stated that the remake had entered full production with a planned 2026 release.
For many fans, the remake represented an opportunity to preserve an important piece of gaming history for a new generation. The original game influenced countless players and developers, and many of us grew up with the Sands of Time trilogy. We have waited patiently through years of uncertainty because we believe this franchise deserves the same care and respect that other legendary gaming series have received through successful remakes.
In January 2026, Ubisoft announced a major company-wide restructuring and canceled several projects, including the long-awaited Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time Remake.
This petition exists because fans want their voices heard. We are asking Ubisoft to reconsider the decision, explore alternatives such as partnering with external studios, releasing completed assets, or finding another path that allows this remake to reach players. The years of development, the dedication of the developers who worked on the project, and the passion of the fan community should not simply disappear.
Prince of Persia helped shape gaming history. We believe it deserves a future as well.
