Köpenicker Seele

Das "Mecki" ist ein Stück Köpenicker Vergangenheit, Gegenwart und hoffentich auch Zukunft. Es ist ein grüner Fleck am Wasser, der gerne von den Köpenickern besucht wird, die dort verweilen können bei Imbiss und Getränken. Es ist ein Stück Köpenicker Lebensgefühl. Wenn es verschwindet, verliert Köpenick ein Stück von seiner Seele.

Privateigentum

Dagegen spricht, dass das Gelände noch nie öffentlicher Raum, sondern immer Privatbesitz war. Zu DDR-Zeiten hat das für die Behörden beim Bau der Freiluftgaststätte keine Rolle gespielt. Heute sind Eigentumsrechte aber Bürgerrechte. Das Mecklenburger Dorf hat seine Zeit gehabt. Wenn wirklich gebaut wird, wird das Areal Heimat für neue Köpenicker. Das Argument mit Luxuswohnungen ist Unsinn. Es müssen ja nicht alle Berliner in einer Kleinwohnung im Plattenbau hausen. Es gibt Menschen mit größeren Ansprüchen.
