1958 fuhr noch die Dampflok 42 mal (in den rush-ours 7 mal) durch Schäftlarn. Die Autobahn gab's noch nicht. Der Individualverkehr - "Peanuts". Heute S-Bahn 120 bzw. 36 mal. Die Verkehrsführung hat sich in den 67 Jahren nicht geändert. Möglichkeiten einer Verbesserung wurden nicht wahrgenommen. Wenn jetzt der 2. Weg versperrt werden soll, dann werden Stau, Umweltbelastung und die Umwege bei offener Schranke größer.

Die Schließung des Bahnüberganges ist nicht die Ursache des Verkehrschaos. Das wäre alles kein Problem, wenn die Umgehungsstraße gebaut worden wäre. Dies wurde aufgrund von kurzsichtiger Denkweise zweier Gemeinderatsfraktionen verhindert, von denen sich eine jetzt über die Schließung des Bahnüberganges brüskiert. Es sollte das Problem an der Wurzel gelöst werden, anstatt nur an Symptomen herum zu operieren.
