Internationale Wissenschaft

Mit der Eröffnung der 24/7-Bibliothek und dem Aufbau eines umfangreichen digitalen Angebots ist der Universität Leipzig eindeutig ein Fortschritt gelungen, der den Forschern zudem ermöglicht, die aktuelle internationale Debatte zu verfolgen. Mit der Kürzung der Datenbanken strebt die Politik eindeutig einen Rückschritt in die wissenschaftliche Provinzialität an.

Geldknappheit ist kein Argument

Offenbar ist das nötige Geld vorhanden, wie sonst käme man dazu, einen riesigen Glasbau an den Augustusplatz zu setzen, der Millionen kostet, nur um ein Wahrzeichen der Universität zu haben, es gibt keine, aber auch keine, abgesehen von der Prestige, Gründe, so ein Bauwerk dahin zu setzen. Warum verpulvert man das vorhandene Geld derart? Ein Bau im Stile des Seminargebäudes hätte alle Anforderungen erfüllt, wäre billiger gewesen, und man hätte das Geld in wichtige Punkte investieren können

Preisanstieg bei elektronischen Medie

Massiv gestiegene Kosten für die Abonnements elektonischer Zeitschriften und eBooks werden außer Acht gelassen – Preise stiegen mehr als 30 % in 6 Jahren! (Etwa 4,5 % p.a., deutlich mehr als Inflation!) UBL hat nicht richtig verhandelt, während Uni nicht weiter Publikationsserver und von Open-Access-Journale propagiert hat. Mehr Geld, das unterm Strich in die Taschen der Verlage wandert, die Forscher und Institutionen gleichermaßen schröpfen, kann nicht die Lösung sein.

Öffnungszeiten Wachleute

Die Einschränkung der Öffnungszeiten ist vollkommen richtig. Wer nach 22 Uhr in die Bib geht, sollte sich 1. ein Privatleben zulegen und 2. mal überlegen, dass dafür vollkommen unterbezahlte Wachleute beschäftigt werden müssen, die in der Zeit lieber Sinnvolleres tun könnten.

Studiengebühren, Bibliotek

Da die Student*innen mit Studiengebühren btw. Studiengebühren Erhörungen nicht einverstanden sind, ist es verständlich das die Uni einiges einstellen muss.
