La pétition est adressée à : Mayor of the City of Munich, City Council of the City of Munich, Local Building Commission of the City of Munich, Trade Supervisory Office of the City of Munich
It currently appears to be true that the 1972 Olympic Village in Munich, which is a heritage-listed complex (entry no. E-1-62-000-70 “Olympic Park Ensemble” in the Munich list of monuments of the Bavarian State Office for Monument Preservation) – specifically in the building at Helene-Mayer-Ring 14, 80809 Munich – will become home to a betting office or betting shop.
In the opinion and personal conviction of the initiator and other co-initiators, this is highly likely to have negative and far-reaching effects on this special historic, listed and family-friendly residential area (awarded in the City of Munich's “Child and Family-Friendly Residential Complex 2006” competition; Source: EIG Olympiadorf e.V. - https://eig-olympiadorf.de/leben-im-olympiadorf/#kinderfreundliches-dorf).
We, as neighbors and residents, therefore demand:
As a direct resident (and co-owner!) of the building in question, having grown up and lived in the Olympic Village for decades, I - Patrick Bäumel - am particularly dismayed that such a tenant or provider has been approved in a family-friendly, clean residential area that is listed as a historic monument (and may even be on its way to becoming a World Heritage Site!). A residential area with kindergartens, daycare centers, schools, children's and youth (sports) clubs, and church children's and youth groups located in the immediate vicinity.

I personally would consider changing my apartment if the gambling office does not get close down.
I think it does not makes any sense for the neighbourhood. This will attract gamblers and alcoholics to our neighbourhood, and will put a risk in our daily lives, and create to much fights and noise over the evenings.
It seriously does not make sense to ruin such a lovely neighbourhood where we have a cultural center, a park and a church in the walking distance for the benefits of drug addicts and alchoholics.
What about the decent tax paying people, why not support opening a nice coffe, an art center or something that makes the life easier and more enjoyable for us?
