Auch, wenn es nach 13 x 48 Stunden Neukölln so aussieht: Nein, dieses Kunst- und Kulturfestival ist in und für Neukölln keine Selbstverständlichkeit! Organisation bedeutet u.a.: Jedes Jahr neue Anträge schreiben, neue (ehrenamtliche) Mitarbeiter/innen finden, sich als Künstler/in sehr sozial und bürgerschaftlich für seinen Bezirk zu engagieren. Das ist alles keine Selbstverständlichkeit!

Kultur ist lebensnotwendig

Deutschland - und erst recht Neukölln - hat schlicht und ergreifend keine anderen Rohstoffe außer Kultur, Bildung, Wissenschaft und Kunst! Wer daran spart, vergeht sich an der Zukunft.

Anfang 2012 läuft die Stelle der derzeitigen Neuköllner Kulturamtsleiterin aus. Eine Neubesetzung ist zur Zeit nicht im Gespräch. Warum nicht? Was plant die Neuköllner Bezirkspolitik? Weitere Stellen-Streichungen im Kulturamt? Streichungen bzw. Einsparungen von Fördermitteln? Quo vadis, Neuköllner Kulturpolitik? Kunst und Kultur müssen auch in Zukunft von öffentlicher Seite unterstützt werden. Kunst und Kultur sind positive Neuköllner Standortfaktoren für alle Neuköllnerinnen und Neuköllner.

Problematische Formulierung

Um vorweg schon mal alle Missverständnisse zu beseitigen: ich bin FÜR die Petition. Ich störe mich lediglich an einer Formulierung: die "Stellen auf dem 2. Arbeitsmarkt". Warum sollten wir uns als KünstlerInnen/Kulturschaffende diese diskriminierende Bezeichnung zu eigen machen, und wenn sie noch so "offiziell" ist (umso schlimmer!)? In anderen Ländern gibt es solche Kategorisierungen nicht. Wir sollten endlich einmal achtsamer mit uns selbst umgehen. Das beginnt schon bei der Wortwahl.
