Der Tenderingsee ist ein 100 ha großer Klarwasserseen in NRW, den es zu schützen gilt. Er hat überwiegend Armleuchteralgen, die in eine Tiefe von bis zu 14 m wachsen. Durch die Größe und die lebensraumtypische Vegetation (LRT 3140) ist der See nach EU Recht geschützt. Leider wird er durch den weiteren Kiesabbau bedroht.
