Reading various magazines and newspapers in Germany one could read that Siemens will dramatically cut down costs which will have a main focus in Eastern Germany. In particular the closing of the manufacturing site in Goerlitz was published.
So far Siemens did not comment on that (as at November 1st, 2017).
We want to start this petition to force Siemens to prepare a sound concept to remain operations in Goerlitz and to safeguard the future for many people relying on these operations.
The portfolio manufactured in Goerlitz focusses industrial customers (i.e. Paper Industries), decentralized power generation in the smaller and mid size range (i.e. Bio Mass Plants) and Power coming from renewables (i.e. Solar Thermal Plants). With this portfolio Goerlitz operates in a stable and growing market with a good future.
Αιτιολόγηση
The manufacturing site is one of the biggest employers in the region (app. 1000 employees) and thus a driving factor for the prosper development of the region and a good partner for many sub suppliers.
We would like to get the right political, technical and moral support in all levels. With your signature you will show your interest in this intention to change Siemens' mind regarding these activities. Innovation and development is never possible without qualified and enthusiastic people. Most of all it is not possible selling or closing the site or cut down head count.
