Das DAI ist die wichtigste überregional relevante Kultureinrichtung Heidelbergs, Mutter der deutschen Poetry-Slammer-Szene, Träger diverser Bildungs- und Erziehungseinrichtungen, unverzichtbarer Kulturveranstalter im Rhein-Neckar-Delta und ein Haus der internationalen Begegnung für alle Gesellschaftsschichten. In der Region gibt es nichts Vergleichbares.

DAI ist einmalig

WO in der BRD gibts denn ein ähnliches Angebot??? WO ??? In Freiburg jedenfalls nicht !!! Pacha Beetz, ehemals TON SWR gerd meuer, ehemals Westafrika für DW, ARD, SRG, ORF, BBC, Radio France, NZZ etc. etc.

Abzug amerikanischer Streitkräfte

Heidelberg hat eine seit 67 Jahren gewachsene Verbindung zu den Amerikanern. Mit dem Abzug der amerikanischen Streitkräfte aus der Stadt wird es umso wichtiger sein, die kulturelle Verbindung zu halten, wie sie mit den erfolgreichen Veranstaltungen des DAI, mit dessen großer Bibliothek angelsächsischer Literatur und Medien und der Örtlichkeit als solche, seither geleistet wurde.

Wertschätzung, Arbeitsplätze

Das DAI bietet seit vielen Jahr Kultur und Bildung auf höchstem Niveau aus Überzeugung und mit sehr viel Engagement, nicht weil es gut bezahlt wird, sondern weil es auch eine Herzenangelegenheit ist. Aber von Dankesworten und Lobeshymnen kann keiner der Mitarbeiter leben. Diese Arbeitsplätze sind es wert erhalten zu werden!

Stellenerhalt, Engagement, Selbsthilfe

Das DAI fordert nicht einfach neue Stellen! "6 plus 4" heißt auch die Personalstellen und damit die engagierte Arbeit der bisherigen Mitarbeiter anzuerkennen und für den weiteren Betrieb aufrecht zu erhalten. Gebäudereinigung, Finanzbuchhaltung, Fundraising, alles gehört zur Grundversorgung, damit das DAI "Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe" entwickeln kann!

Freundeskreis, Grundversorgung, Bildungszentrum

Fortsetzung des Gegenarguments: - so wurden nötige Stellen besetzt die vielen Heidelberger/innen im Alltag mit Beratung und Angeboten zu Seite stehen. Diese Leistungen, die Ihre eindeutigen Erfolge aufzeigt, müssen von Seiten der Stadt - nicht dem Freundeskreis - ausreichend unterstütz werden!

Think of our future!

If the city can afford it, then why not give it to DAI? DAI has proven to be worthy & vital to the international, cultural, social and intellectual progress of Heidelberg.Education is essential for the continued growth of our city. Our people and especially our children (our future!) NEED to experience and learn about the world.Why would one deny them this growth and experience if it means building a bright future for Heidelberg and its people? If you think education is expensive, try ignorance.

Klärung schaffen

Unabhängig der Tatsache, dass die Petition ist bereits unterschrieben ist, wäre ein wenig mehr Transparenz von Seiten des DAI wünschenswert. Das ~400.000€ (+Spenden und Einnahmen) und 5 Mitarbeiter nicht reichen ist nachvollziehbar. Aber: Eine Zuschusserhöhung um fast 100%, 14 statt 5 Stellen, woher kommt dieser immense Mehrbedarf? Abseits davon halte ich Aussagen wie "Prüfung durch Experten aus dem Finanz- wie Wirtschaftsbereich" für unseriös. Über weiter Infos würde ich mich freuen.

Klärung schaffen

Ich bin nicht notwendigerweise gegen eine Petition an die Stadt. Ich möchte aber zuvor einige Fragen geklärt haben. Wenn ich die Aussagen von J. Kollhöfer in der RNZ richtig verstanden habe, dann stammt der finanzielle Engpass auch oder vor allem aus der Änderung der internen Geldflüsse zugunsten des Kindergartens. Wenn dem so ist, dann wäre das finanzielle Problem auch selbst verursacht. Dann hätte intern das Thema "Wissen schafft Stadt" keine Priorität. Da wäre noch eine Diskussion zu führen.

Ehrenamt

Bei aller Sympathie: Das DAI sollte sich den Mehrbedarf über Spenden und sonstige Drittmittel beschaffen. Ein wachsender Personalbestand bedeutet nicht immer bessere Leistungen. Wir hätten sicher alle gern 100% mehr Einkommen. Aber: man kann mehr mit Ehrenamtlichen arbeiten, ohne zusätzliche Personalkosten zu haben. Die Ehrenamtlichen könnten auch Einblick bekommen, ob und wer von den Hauptamtlichen vlt. sogar - im Vergleich zur abgelieferten Leistung - überbezahlt ist.
