Dear fellow campaigners,
Our petition continues to grow unstoppably, and the desire for a genuine political new beginning in the country is becoming louder by the day. When we look at the current denial of reality in the Chancellery, a historical parallel clearly emerges.
Many of us remember the great awakening in the autumn of 1989. In the chronicle "Wir sind das Volk: die DDR im Aufbruch" (by Hannes Bahrmann and Christoph Links, Aufbau-Verlag, 1990), it is documented firsthand how citizens criticized stuck politics back then. A historical slogan from the demonstrations at that time describes our situation today more accurately than ever:
"The cart is stuck too deep in the mud – The old drivers must go!"
Just like back then, we are once again experiencing a political leadership that stubbornly refuses to acknowledge the everyday reality of the people. In the same chronicle, it is aptly described how those in power try to downplay grievances through linguistic tricks. Regarding the political tactic of sugarcoating, it states that "bad" becomes "not yet good", and a poor job turns into an appeal to "work even better".
We are experiencing exactly this tactic of sugarcoating and "riding it out" today when historic election defeats are ignored. However, the current ZDF Politbarometer clearly shows, with a historic peak of 79 percent dissatisfaction with Federal Chancellor Merz, that the population has completely lost trust in the current "drivers" of federal politics.

Уважаемые соратники,
Наша петиция продолжает неудержимо расти, и стремление к подлинному новому политическому старту в стране становится все громче с каждым днем. Когда мы смотрим на нынешнее отрицание реальности в Ведомстве канцлера, историческая параллель напрашивается сама собой.
Многие из нас помнят великий подъем осенью 1989 года. В хронике "Мы — народ: ГДР на подъеме" (издательство "Aufbau-Verlag", 1990) из первых уст задокументировано, как граждане тогда критиковали застрявшую политику. Исторический лозунг тех демонстраций описывает нашу сегодняшнюю ситуацию точнее, чем когда-либо:
"Телега застряла слишком глубоко в грязи – Старые кучера должны уйти!"
Именно эту тактику замалчивания и "пересиживания" мы наблюдаем сегодня, когда игнорируются исторические поражения на выборах. Однако текущий опрос "ZDF-Politbarometer" четко показывает, что при историческом пике недовольства федеральным канцлером Мерцем в 79 процентов, население полностью потеряло доверие к нынешним "кучерам" федеральной политики. Воля избирателей не должна быть просто предложением!
