In recent press releases are piling up reports of a radical clear-cutting at the workplaces in the Berlin Dynamowerk. The assumptions range from relocation to the closure of more than 110 years old tradition in Berlin. These are bad news and a threatening blow to the employees, suppliers and their families, and even overall for the location of Berlin.
Siemens in Berlin, ahead of the Dynamowerk, has always been a reliable partner and part of Berlin, and Siemens in the capital is providing important industrial policy impulses. Even the Governing Mayor Müller is worried and has turned to the company management together with others. It is incomprehensible why Siemens does not use the possibilities in Berlin an industrial showcase in the world much more offensively and instead shocks the employees and Berlin by negative reports.
The Dynamowerk works council has put forward detailed proposals for the further development and economic stabilization of the Dynamowerk site, a positive future without clear-cutting is possible.
The Dynamowerk manufactures specialized electrical machines, and calculates, designs, manufactures, tests and ships the world's largest electric drives for many industries (shipbuilding, extractive industries, oil and gas, etc.). Many customers value innovation and value our excellent technical infrastructure. Example: Our test field, which is directly coupled with the Reuter power plant in Berlin and unique in Germany - here we can carry out real load tests with top-of-the-range engines and offer them to our customers. The Dynamowerk is over 110 years old and at the same time today a center for innovation. At the moment many projects are running parallel here, dealing with the engine technology of tomorrow and the day after tomorrow. The proximity to science at the more than 17 universities in Berlin and beyond provides fertile ground for sustainable innovation and future viability. Berlin needs more industrial production in order to develop further as a metropolitan center.
As employee representatives, we propose concrete and improved cooperation with these institutions.
The threat of clear-cutting at Siemens in the Dynamowerk is in this respect for the capital, but also for the surrounding area in Brandenburg, for the employees in the plant a particularly serious setback to the existence of threat to whole families. Siemens propagates the responsibility of the elites and demands ownership from its employees.
Our concern: In this sense, we, the employees of the Dynamo power plant in Berlin, turn against plans for relocation, clear-cutting and site closure.
Our workforce is motivated, qualified and due to the high level of experience of our colleagues, we have proven time and again that technological challenges have to be solved with us!
We want to make sure that existing plans for the further development and realignment of the Dynamowerk in Berlin are taken up, further developed and implemented with us.
In this sense, we ask for professional, moral and political support at all levels. With your signature, you can show that you support our concerns and help to bring about a rethinking on the Siemens Executive Board.
Your works council and the employees of the Siemens Dynamowerk Berlin
