Zahlreiche Bürger empfinden den Umgang mit Dr. Füllmich als unverhältnismäßig – gerade im Vergleich zu anderen Fällen, in denen deutlich schwerwiegendere Vorwürfe zu milderen Konsequenzen führten. Die harte Vorgehensweise nährt den Verdacht, dass hier politische Motive mitspielen. Solche Wahrnehmungen verdienen Gehör in einer freien Gesellschaft.

Dr. Reiner Füllmich, Ex‑Anwalt und Frontmann des Corona‑Ausschusses, wurde als Querdenker‑Ikone bekannt. Das Landgericht Göttingen verurteilte ihn zu 3 Jahren 9 Monaten Haft wegen Untreue: Er zweigte rund 700.000 € an Spenden aus dem Ausschuss ab, leitete Gelder auf das Konto seiner Frau und nutzte sie privat – u. a. für Gartengestaltung und Whirlpool.
